Gorana received her PhD in Political Science from the Central European University (CEU) in 2018. She holds MA in Public Policy with specialization in International Public Policy and Decentralized Governance from the Central European University, Department of Public Policy, as well as an MA and BA in Political Science, both from the University of Zagreb.

In June 2015 Gorana completed the Program for Excellence in Teaching in Higher Education at the CEU Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) - focusing on the Design for Learning Area. She served as Teaching Assistant at the CEU Department of Public Policy and School of Public Policy for MA courses related to policy process and analysis, corruption control, public management, and comparative public budgeting. As Visiting Instructor at the CEU CTL in AY 2017/18, Gorana was teaching PhD courses related to foundations in teaching in higher education and introduction to teaching portfolio. Her teaching research interest focuses on design for learning and teaching with case studies and simulations, especially in teaching social sciences.

Previously, Gorana worked in Transparency International Croatia on projects related to financing of political parties and electoral campaigns, conflict of interests and freedom of information. Following this background, Gorana's PolSci research interest focuses on political financing and money in politics, regulations and compliance, and anti-corruption policies. Her PhD dissertation explored the impact of political financing regulations on party corruption in Croatia and Serbia.
