European Teaching Award: Academic Year 2022-2023: Ernesto Vasquez del Aguila

Ernesto Vasquez del Aguila

CEU has awarded the twelfth annual European Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities to Ernesto Vasquez del Aguila, Assistant Professor in Social Justice and Director of Teaching and Learning in the School of Social Policy, Social Work and Social Justice at University College Dublin in Ireland. Vasquez del Aguila is a recognized expert in making education more inclusive, fostering community, and enabling students to contribute their knowledge and experiences in the collective learning process.

European Teaching Award: Academic Year 2021-2022: Linda Daniela

CEU honors Professor Linda Daniela, dean of Faculty of Education, Psychology and Art at the University of Latvia, with the eleventh annual European Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities. Traditionally part of the Year Opening Ceremony since its foundation for CEU’s 20th anniversary, the prestigious award honoring academics in the social sciences and humanities teaching at higher education institutions in the European Higher Education Area was conferred upon Professor Daniela by Pro-Rector for Research and Faculty Agnes Batory.  

European Teaching Award: Academic Year 2020-2021: Maria Kaika

Central European University (CEU) is pleased to announce the winner of the tenth annual European Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities as Prof. Dr. Maria Kaika of the University of Amsterdam. The prestigious European award is accompanied by the €5,000 Diener Prize, and will be presented at CEU’s Opening Ceremony in September 2021.

European Teaching Award: Academic Year 2019-2020: Sarah Morton, Donata Romizi

Dr. Donata Romizi, University of Vienna (UW), and Dr. Sarah Morton, University College Dublin (UCD) are the joint recipients of the 2020 European Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities. The award is given by Central European University (CEU) and accompanied by the €5,000 Diener Prize.

European Teaching Award: Academic Year 2018-2019: Georgina Blakeley

Dr. Georgina Blakeley, formerly Director of Teaching and Deputy Head of School at the Open University (OU) in the United Kingdom, is the winner of the 2019 European Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities. The award is given by Central European University (CEU) and accompanied by the €5,000 Diener Prize.

Dr. Blakeley was presented with the award at CEU's Opening Ceremony for academic year 2019-2020 on 13 September, 2019.
