European Teaching Award: Academic Year 2015 -2016: Jim Murdoch

CEU honors Professor Jim Murdoch, Professor of Public Law, University of Glasgow, with the fifth annual European Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities

Professor Jim Murdoch is the recipient of the fifth annual European Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities. Murdoch was presented with the award at CEU's Opening Ceremony for academic year 2016-2017 on 16 September, 2016. The award is accompanied by the €5,000 Diener Prize, made possible by a generous gift from Steven and Linda Diener in memory of Ilona Diener. Read more.

Murdoch earned his Bachelor of Laws at the University of Glasgow and his Master of Laws at University of California, Berkeley. His pioneering European Human Rights Project (EHRP) is unique in Europe. His work on EHRP earned him one of the University of Glasgow's first Teaching Excellence Awards. He was also honored for the course with the Partnership Award from the Institute of Directors (London) and the Council of Europe's Pro Merito Medal
